Ashton Vineyard Syrah 2007

Our 2007 is outstanding, well balanced, with healthy tannins, dark berries, earthy, pepper spice, and a smooth velvety lingering finish. We were rewarded with a Gold Medal with SF Chronicle Wine Competition for this vintage. Our wines are aging exceptionally well in the bottle.

The mountain's volcanic soil adds character, depth, and complexity to the terroir, producing this full-bodied Syrah that has richly layered forward fruit flavors, abundant mid-palate sensations. Barrel-aged for 32 months in artisanal-coopered oak barrels. We produced 160 cases.

Ashton Vineyard, originally established in 1970 is a women-owned multi-generational family estate, dedicated to sustainable and ethical practices. We pride ourselves in producing award winning wines from grapes grown at the foot of Sonoma Mountain's eastern slope in Glen Ellen, in the heart of "Valley of the Moon," where morning fog and cool evening air moderate the warm summer days.
