2018 Sis & Mae Wine Co. Grenache Blanc Applegate Valley
The most common reaction to we get to this wine is, “I’ve never had a white grenache before.” Those who have rarely find one grown in Oregon as there are very few acres of this variety here. That said, it’s getting planted more frequently – because it’s delicious.
The grapes for this wine come from Mae and Eevee Vineyards in the Applegate Valley, are grown sustainably, and come in with such an appealing ripeness and nice acidity. Mandarin oranges, honey, and a stony minerality keep this wine interesting. Several months in neutral oak help fill the wine out into a beautiful round, medium-bodied wine. If you are interested to try something new, but something that will be familiar and approachable – try this wine.
