2018 Sis & Mae Wine Co Steelhead Run Syrah Applegate Valley

We pick our syrah a little bit earlier than most. We are aiming for a Northern Rhone style syrah that highlights the savory and structural. What results is a medium-bodied wine with some nice blueberry fruit, but accentuated with black pepper, smoke, and black olive. Some may call this cool climate syrah – we call it Southern Oregon Syrah is grown and vinified with care. Totally de-stemmed, fermented open top with indigenous yeast, raised in neutral barrel for 8 months and bottled without additions, fining, or filtration. This is as pure an expression of the grapes that we could produce.
