Sullivan Rutheford Estate Cabernet Sauvignon 2016
The 2016 vintage saw ideal weather conditions. The season started early and followed by a relatively mild summer with even temperatures throughout the growing season. A series of warm days as we approached the harvest brought the fruit to ripeness before the first rains. The drought conditions produced smaller and more concentrated berries, resulting in another stellar year for our estate wines
The 2016 Cabernet Sauvignon is immediately identifiable by hints of dark chocolate and leather-laced with black pepper and mint. There is an intriguing floral character that melds with the flavors of dried black cherry and plum. The typical savory Rutherford Dust is present as a perfect point between power and elegance. A balance between acids and tannins provides length beyond the initial sip. This wine is truly a representation of the Sullivan Estate and delivers the best Rutherford has to offer.
