Classic concentrated dark Cabernet fruit on the nose. The palate is accented with graphite, cassis and black licorice. The wine displays richness, depth and persistence.
Beverage Tasting Institute: 93 pts
"Ruby black color. Aromas and flavors of toasted marshmallow, chocolate hazelnut and pistachio toffees, hint of crayon, and olive and pepper relish with a vibrant, dry-yet-fruity medium body and a medium-length finish with elements of honeyed dried berries and spiced nuts with chewy, earthy tannins and light oak flavor. A snappy, lively cabernet for all occasions."
This rich and well-sculpted Cabernet is powerful and expressive of the appellation, welling with muscular tannins and generous depth. Aged 22 months in French oak, the palate offers concentrated flavors of cassis, blackberry and loamy earth deftly layered with cocoa, fennel, dustry sage and notes of black olive. Elegant, yet bold, this red wine holds its focus through the extended aftertaste.
2018 Sis & Mae Wine Co. Grenache Blanc Applegate Valley
The most common reaction to we get to this wine is, “I’ve never had a white grenache before.” Those who have rarely find one grown in Oregon as there are very few acres of this variety here. That said, it’s getting planted more frequently – because it’s delicious. The grapes for this wine come from Mae and Eevee Vineyards in the Applegate Valley, are grown sustainably, and come in with such an appealing ripeness and nice acidity. Mandarin oranges, honey, and a stony minerality keep this wine interesting. Several months in neutral oak help fill the wine out into a beautiful round, medium-bodied wine. If you are interested to try something new, but something that will be familiar and approachable – try this wine.

Layered complexity, with bright notes of pie cherry and crushed violets giving way to earthy flavors of the forest floor.
Drink now or cellar for up to 10 years.
Wine Enthusiast: 91 Points "A ripe supple wine, more approvable at this time that its excellent companion "The Cipher". Plum and cherry fruit carries a slightly salty note. Aging in one-quarter new French oak adds a whiff of chocolate and the finishing acidity brings a lick of citrus." -P.G. Publish 3/1/2019
James Suckling: 91 Points Some crushed roses and fresh violets on the nose here. A wealth of succulent tennis carries a fresh array of black-cherry and plum flavor into a slightly sinewy finish. Drink or hold.
The PinotFile: 93 Points Moderately dark garnet color in the glass. Plenty of garrigue and forest on the nose along with black cherry aromas. Well-structured and well-endowed in a mid-weight plus style, with waves of purple and blackberry fruits. Almost numbing intensity, with a serious attack and purposeful and long finish. The wine has a Syrah-like countenance but is so well put together, it still speaks more of Pinot Noir. -PG 3/22/19
REGION: Willamette Valley, Oregon VARIETALS: Pinot Noir (Clones: Pommard/Dijon 114/115/777) MATURATION: 12 months in 100% French oak (35% new) ANALYSIS: 13.6% alc/vol I TA: 4.8 I pH: 3.54
VINTAGE: 2015 was a nearly ideal growing season. It began with a warm winter and above-average temperatures continued through the summer. Light scattered showers in late August and a return to normalcy in September gave a break to what was an intense growing season. The result was concentrated, balanced fruit throughout one of the driest and warmest vintages in Oregon’s winemaking history.
AVAs & VINEYARDS: Eola Amity - Eagle Crest, Eola Springs, Popcorn. McMinnville - Hyland. Willamette Valley - Croft. Yamhill Carlton - Bishop Creek, Fairsing, Gran Moraine, Stardance.
WINEMAKING: The Attaché is a barrel selection culled from both alluvial and volcanic vineyard sites. An indigenous, whole berry fermentation took place employing a gentle infusion technique to extract color and depth without excessive phenolics. The wine then matured for 12 months in French oak barrels, 35% of which were new.
TASTING NOTES: Vibrant aromas of wild berries, dried fl powers, and sage with touches of spice and woodsmoke. The palate fills the mouth with fleshy red fruits, cherry cola, and earthy layers. Gentle tannins provide a structured yet soft frame to the fruit which is kept in line by a satisfying minerality. The wine fi finishes long with clarity and focus.
ABOUT MAISON L’ENVOYÉ: Driven by a tireless hunt for elusive sites where Pinot Noir shines, Maison L’Envoyé, ‘The House of the Messenger’ traverses the globe with the intention of presenting the acme of regionality and winemaking styles. With winemaking footprints in Burgundy, Willamette Valley, Central Otago, and Tasmania, they champion many unsung growers who have farmed their vineyards for decades and generations, some mere feet away from more illustriously cited neighbors. This project has been a standout since its debut in 2011 including Wine & Spirits naming Maison L’Envoyé a ‘Winery To Watch’ in 2015.
