The Silver Dollar Vineyard is on the eastern edge of the Napa Valley where the hot days lead to cool night. This is perfect for a varietal like Petite Sirah. Starting with 30% whole cluster fermentation, we used all French barrels, 25% new, 25% once used and the rest neutral barrels.
Tasting Notes
The 2017 Napa Valley Silver Dollar Vineyard Petite Sirah has a deep ruby/magenta color with brilliant clarity. The nose has complex aromas of blackberry liqueur, leather, orange rind, chocolate and tar that flows into a palate that is full bodied, black fruit dominant and spicy with full tannins. It is an explosion of flavors that will age for years to come.

Formed in 2002 by business executive Paul Johnson and his partner, legendary 100pt. Napa winemaker Gary Galleron (formerly of Vineyard 29, Grace Family, Whitehall Lane, Chateau Montelena, Hartwell, Del Dotto and Seavey). Paul and Gary built the brand to an under the radar favorite in homes and restaurants from New York to Los Angeles. Paul had told Gary from the beginning, “do not make the wine, teach me to make the wine”.
